I recently got these Ridata (a.k.a Ritek) discs, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817132321 . From what i have noticed, around 40% of the discs have a bad dye on it. Bad dye are usually white streaks that appear on the bottom side of a disc, they arent like scractches. I think this effects the load times of my ps2 backups. My main question is that has anyone else who has ridata disc notice a problem on the dyes?

Sometimes, old firmware can cause such high errors. But I used to average about 12% of errors on ritek. Now I only use Taiyo Yuden, which drop my errors to less than 1%.

I use Datawrite (Titanium) and Verbatim. Both brands are sweet. I haven't had one bad disc from them. Bulpaq are pretty good too and they're cheaper than most brands.

I don't like Memorex. Poor results for me.

I have had, so far, perfect results from:

-> 8x Sony DVD-R (SONY08D1)
-> 8x Sony DVD+R (YUDEN000 T02)

So far ive gotten perfect results from Verbatim and Sonic.

Had to get the Verbatim cause I needed to get cheap discs fast and those were the cheapest at Bestbut when I went. (50 pack for ~$23)

I usually get the Sonic from shop4tech.com; 100 for $23-25 shipped. :)

Work great on both my Sony DRU-510A, my new NEC 52-something (cant remember right now), and my friend's Sony burner.

I have to order some more DVDs, but I don't think I'll by Ritek this time, yikes.
