When I start Grabbit I get a speed of around 380 to 400. Wthin a couple of minutes it drops to 15 to 25.

This has only started happening today, anyone got any ideas.

As I suggested last try another client to narrow down what it may be...

No this is a new problem, I sorted out the last one.

I may try that tho'. It'sjust that I find grabbit really easy to use.

Reality just doesn't like GrabIt...:P It's working fine for me. I would suspect
it's your news server.

Peace bd

The problem seems to have been with me router or wireless gateway, feck knows why.

I re-booted both and it seems to be working OK now.

Cheers chaps.

Actually I have nothing against GrabIt and my guide is for it. I just have found since using Newsleecher it does more and better in the way it works. I think GrabIt is very user friendly and a great starting point for anyone although Newsleecher isnt really that much more complicated but its just a better client...

I like GrabIt because I read your guide and I find it really easy to use and understand.

I could never get to grips with Usenet before that and now I think it's fan-tastic.

I prefer GrabIt because it's free. (Given a choice and all things being
equal, I always use the free product.) I don't consider it a starting point
program only. I have used it for awhile now.

I think Newsleecher is a fine program. There area few things I don't like
about it, and that is why I don't use it. The author is greedy. He does complete new releases, rather than release updates to fix bugs. I also
don't like the invasive copy protection used "Armadillo"

Having said this, Newsleecher handles large bianary groups better than
all other news apps, hands down.

Peace bd :)

I tend to agree, the newest version of Grabit has worked flawlessly for me and many users. So I would assume it is your usenet provider... You're not using GigaNews are you? Thats what they did to my account, throttled it down beyond crappy speeds... So then I found the light that is NewsHostingl. :D
