heres a review

"Has there ever been a film-related talent with a more inconsistent track record than Stephen King? This is the man whose name made us think that a clumsily titled film called The Shawshank Redemption might be worth checking out. That name also made us fork over ten dollars for Thinner. Every time you swear to yourself that you'll never pay again for a King movie, every time he burns you with a Dreamcatcher, Graveyard Shift, Sleepwalkers or The Mangler, he comes up with a Misery or The Green Mile. You could blame it on those who adapt his work to the screen, but the one time he did his own directing we got Emilio Estevez being chased by possessed trucks in Maximum Overdrive.

Sure, King owes us a lot of money, but would you really want it back if it meant you'd never get to watch The Shining again? Of course not. So, once again, it's time to get in line and take your beating so Mr. King can buy some nice things and put himself in the mood to someday write another masterpiece. This time our bitter medicine is Riding the Bullet, a miserable dead-end of a film that runs around in circles like a sick animal before ultimately collapsing in a heap of exhaustion and disorientation.

Kinda sums it up. It's not that you could blame. It's that you must.

Steven King books have generally made fucking awful movies.
With the notable exceptions Misery, The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption, they've all turned out crap IMHO.
