convert .mp3 into .aac file?

anyone know of a free program that could do this?

i love to listen to audio bo0oks on my ipod, but it will only file them away as audiobooks if i convert the files into .aac and then rename them as .m4a or .m4b files. it is rather annoying

Theres a really good program, i dont know the name of it but its like a trial. Many use it.

Someone else may know it.
