I don't think I ever downloaded anything other than songs from Napster while on dialup. Seems like eons ago doesn't it?

I was on dial-up for four years before broadband became available in my area a couple of years or so ago.

When I finally got broadband installed, it was like a koala bear crapped a rainbow in my brain.

735 MB Valve Steam file , it took 6 days, since i didnt leave my pc on 24/7. (so all in all about 24-30 hours.... and steam couldnt work, because i needed a valid cd key :*( .

The largest file I ever downloaded was a ~650 megabyte linux mandrake iso. I left the computer on overnight (paused the download with GetRight during the day). Took over a week.

But it's good to be able to grab several images in less than an hour these days.

I downloaded pretty much the whole of the first series of Lexx off emule on dial-up. It took me months! Each file was around 700 meg. I got some at work on silly speeds but I downloaded at least 6 or 7 eps at home overnight.

Largest file I downloaded on Dial-up was like 350MB's... I remember it was for Adobe Photoshop, I don't remember the version, but it was before I discovered K-Lite, and was downloading directly from some site I found on astalavista. Took me like 2 weeks because my connection liked to hangup every couple of hours or so... I had to get a program called smart download, that would save my place in download if I were disconnected. :( Horrible memories...
