The team has decided to update the sig rules to get up to date with the times (broadband becoming popular and all).

The maximum sig+avatar images file size is now 175kb. The dimensions of the sig however are a bit more strict.
You may only have 1 line of text under the sig (at the max 150px height) or more lines if the sig is not as tall, to a maximum of 175px (sig+text). The width of your text does not matter, as long as it doesn't create a new line at 800*600 resolution.

That's complete bullshit and you know it.

It doesn't hurt the other 82%.

There's nothing wrong with the current rules. Bigger images are a much bigger annoyance to the 800*600 users than a reasonable sized sig to >800*600 users.

@ Peerzy: I disagree. Users like you who put so much text that it makes us have to scroll a lot to get past your posts spoil it for us all. 100% of us (except maybe yourself).

Your sig is about 200 pixels high and that's with my screen resolution set at 1152x864.

The way the board sets out posts means yours is only a few pixals off 200 itself.

Mine is 112 pixels high including text.

I don't know how you measure things.

The extra space below is because his post was so short that the member info area (avatar, etc.) was too long and created that extra space.

Yeah but if i post a short message, and he posts a shot message, the length from the end of our messages down to the quote button is almost the same, no matter on how big the sig is because of the layout of the forum.

Yeah but, Yeah but...

Just follow the rules. Why would the mod team and the admins change their decision just for you?

Just wondering. The rules say:

The maximum sig+avatar images file size is now 175kb.

And yet when I try to upload my avatar I get this:

Your file of 157.1 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 97.7 KB for this filetype
I know it's a bit big, but it's well within the rules.
So, erm, a setting to change in the admin panel or a subtlety I missed?

Well it's just that you said...

The team has decided to update the sig rules to get up to date with the times (broadband becoming popular and all).

Would keeping up with the times also indicate that most people would like a realistic view on the forums?

It just seems very... one sided. Is everyone supposed to be on broadband speeds, yet cannot afford a monitor to get better resolutions?

If you really want to be sympathetic towards people with shit resolutions, then what about those on 640*480? They must really feel left outside alone?

Yeah but 640x480 users are very rare. There are still plenty of 800x600 users.

Plenty of 56kers still.
So now you're fighting the opposite side.
You just want to argue for no reason?
We give you more file size and you start complaining about the dimensions. If we have you bigger dimensions you'd complain about the file size.
If we were to give you both i'm sure that you would complain that the old ones were fine.
Is there anything that will please you?
