You quoted your mam as an expert on the subject, seemed to be your only argument. I was very much on the side of

triangles = occasion = spend money = better ingredients.

That's the recessive case in our family, mandad ensured I got the family good looks, charm and lower-case interweb handles.

Mam mainly guards against me posting pish with said appellations.
