My car, I want rid of it cause I'm skint, except I have absolutely no idea how much it is realistically worth.

1998 (R) Ford Mondeo GLX 2.0i 16V
About 100k on the clock (except I've changed the engine to a newer one with only 60k on it)
New clutch, just been replaced
ST24 front/rear bumpers and side skirts (wasn't me who put 'em on, don't ask!)
Alloy wheels (not standard ford, can't remember what make)
Stainless steel backbox and exhaust

Obviously I'm wanting to sell it privately, I'd get fook all at a garage.

edit: I'm awaiting the smart arse answers, the type I'd normally give, such as 27p.

1000£ top.

On the continent that is. Last time, Sara told cars (even used ones) are much more expensive on your island so it's possible you get a bit more.

I reckon you could get a grand and a half for it.

Of course, you'd need to find an idiot first but putting an ad in the local paper might unearth a few. Put ALLOYS in capital letters.

I will give you 27p for it. :dabs:

I could stick it in max power, glue some daft flashy lights on, put the 16v badges back on, maybe some stickers, and actually remember what my 17" alloys are, and get £3000:lol:

Or as we mechanics call it the Ford mistake.

That car is probably one of the worst that I’ve ever had to work on, and on some cases refused to work on and sent the customer to the dealership with the car.

If I’m not mistaken I think the car has had 20 recalls just on that particular model.

I think you're forgetting the most important.
If you sell it how the feck will you leave Newcastle?

Coach, train, car.....more to the point, why would I want to leave newcastle?

@hank, well the american version must be very different mechanically to the mondeo, cause the mondeo hasn't had much or any (that I know of, I'm sure someone will dig some up now) bad press. Infact, two of my friends who are mechanics both drive 'em.

I think the Mondeo is one of the most popular cars in Britain - no accounting for taste, like, but they can't be that bad. I know a few people who have them and they all say that they're reliable.

The American version probably has one of those awesome engines that sound loud and do seven miles to the gallon.

My dad's car's like that, tis a 5.0l mustang...had to fill the tank up 3 times on the way back from southampton! Waste of feckin time that car, except it's a bit fast.
