any body know what would be the best video card for this?
i'm thinking a 256MB PCI Express x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon X600 SE
but I know nothing about video cards

That doesn't seem entirely true...

Why not just buy the standard 20.1 inch screen. Much more practical.

I have a friend with that monitor and he runs an Nvidia PCI-E card with no problems.

He plays mostly new FPS games and the majority of them do support the widescreen aspect ratio.

And amazingly so.

I can only compare it to the lost of picture when widescreen movies are "formatted" for TV's aspect ratio. (If you understand that concept)

Anyways, since monitor makers are going to need a "new" product to boost profits, you will start seeing more and more of them as the next trend.
(look at the LCD market now, compared to just a few years ago)

I say go for it.

Yeah it's a new trend alright.

I was thinking about getting a 42" Plasma widescreen.

It'll take me a while to decide if that's really the way to go or not. Just thinking for now. :innocent:

10 cents an hour=.80 a day
365x.80=292 a year

So after taxes you need to save up for quite a few years. :lol:

the X600 SE is an average card right now, but i suggest u get the Nvidia counterpart- the 6600 OC or GT. For now the 6600 is cheaper then the x600 and 6600 outperforms the x600 in most tests and games.
