hiya people,newbie here have been d/loading for quite a while now,have never really had a decent d/l rate above 15-20 kb,need some pointers im sure its my voyager 205 router but i b=cant get the static ip add to work u lot seem well clued up sci fi head in need of assistance s.o.s.

Make sure you have the appropriate ports forwarded in your router. This may help your speeds.

sorry mate but ive used the guidelines in p/fowarding and my router wont let me foward,for instance bearshare has a yellow connection light which should be green,when i hover the mouse over it i get - nat firewalled and tcp firewalled and its definatley not a windows or norton firewall? help steve

If you have two firewalls make sure one is turned off. Don't have the XP firewall on if you are using another one, it seems to feck things up. I just use the XP one, without a commercial version.

I know this sounds daft, but check the dhcp table to make sure you are forwarding to the correct address. If the router was restarted for some reason it may have re-assigned the addresses.
