View Full Version : No sound with new speakers and soundcard.

I just bought and installed new Centrios 5.1 speakers and a SB Live! 24bit card. Ive installed both of them, and set up everything. My comp says the card is fine and the speakers are good, but im not getting any sound :(

Im totally blank, and ideas?

Have you installed the drivers for the sound card?

..yes I have lol...This is royally pissing me off, I mean I spent 150$ on this setup, I expect it to work :(

Try the latest drivers off the company website, it may help.

Are the speakers plugged in? Turned on? Volume turned up?

Do you have the sound muted by any chance?

It's pretty hard to tell what you may have forgotten without actually being there. It would help if you would tell us what you have done so far. Step by step.

First I removed my old sound card and all its drivers. Second I put in the new one, started er up and set up the drivers/software. The speakers were already setup at this point. I tried to play a song but no sound came out, played with the settings, made sure everything was set on digital and on 5.1, no dice.

Everythings unmuted, turned up and pluged in properly.

Im about 5 min from shooting myself in the face.

Alrite, Well Ive got them working, and I ran the test and sound came out of each speaker(the right speaker), but now im playing music out of winamp, and im only getting sound from the sub and the 2 back front...

the two back and 1 center is silent. Suggestions?

Oh, and when i check the digital output box, the sound stops...

Beh, Im just gonna get my coat...figured that problem out too, still dont get why I cant get digital though.......
