I'm not talking about "MSN Today" or anything like that but some prompts that appear advertising crap like "I'm someone looking for boy in US". Man it pisses me off.

But what? A USEFUL pop-up appeared advertising to stop this crap. The website is:

 Nothing's free though ...

In the world of KaZaA Lite it is  Anyone have this?

Can't you configure your firewall to stop them?

I *think* your talking about dialog boxes that pop-up, but appear to be advertising things?

To stop this, run msconfig, and take MSN messenger SERVICE off the start up. OR put your firewall settings higher (i.e. on ZA Pro, Med security level stops them, if they're from the internet).

I hope you didn't pay for anything for any software because it's free to get rid of those messages. Just follow the insructions on this (http://www.popup-killer.info/messenger-spam/) page.

EDIT: LOL, me and spudlover posted at the same time, and the same solution.

Naw, you shouldn't waste your time downloading and installing a program thats just going to take up space.

The tweak MagicNakor posted works. Since its just a tweak, you don't have to download anything else.

Nice comment Paul as stated a few posts earlier in the tabular instructions they are spot on
The messenger service description is as below.
Transmits net send and Alerter service messages between clients and servers. This service is not related to Windows Messenger. If this service is stopped, Alerter messages will not be transmitted. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
