Intel's cpus are better if you're not into gaming, but gaming wise and value wise, AMD poons Intel anyday.

I have Intel and Intel and intel and Intel.. but only can vote once...

On well configured machines without watching costs Intel always wins! Speed, stability and compatability....
Too bad AMD still can't compete...

Only thing it wins prizes is when you look at costs.

Without watching costs then what are you comparing?
When the costs match up, the AMD will win.

NONE of the intel cpus, I repeat, NONE can compete with the raw power of the FX-57 as of now.:naughty:

And don't even go into dual core, cuz the dual core x4800 outperforms any Pentium D cpus.

Btw, who voted for "others"?

Why so?

Intel chips are more ubiquitous.

AMD is probably a better chip but that has nothing to do with what people have. I'm actually surprised more people voted AMD and wonder if the question was understood.

I remember the Iomega Zip drive cornering the removable mass storage market some years back but it was hardly the best.

I'd have thought the "lol" was a dead give-away.

You live and learn.

Anyhow, I never voted since there wasn't an "all of the above"-option.

And yeah, welcome, don't mind cpt-smacktard.

AMD runs hot as a star and fries componants too quick, Intels consumer line isn't much either. If you want fast get Xeon 2Mg Cache or higher. fast, stable, workhorse. i work on 20 computers a day and never had a bad xeon system yet.

You might wanna check your facts wrt AMD heat, the mobile socket A's can run fairly cool, and the socket 939's (and onward I'd imagine) keep an ever lower voltage.

The T-Birds and a lot of xp's did run pretty hot as do a lot of P4's, but that's in the past.
