As depicted in most Hollywood movies, if an an american needs to escape his/her troubles wid da law - they always go to Mexico.
(those that go to Canada seem to have issues)

Hypothesis :
Hence Mexico is infact truelly the Land of Freedom

Question :
Why then do Americans stay in america since they cannot be totally free?

They broke the law here and go where the law can't get them.

The same may apply to Mexico.

Also, don't drive your dad's boss' fancy car with your cousin, cause you'll get arrested.

ok - just testing the grounds.
but
question to all americans - is there always* an option in the back of your head
which says - if i screw up i can always go to mexico?
or to some it may even be canada.

As a rule I would never run from the police unless I was a tank of gas away from Mexico.

I don't think "there's always an option in the back of your head" because most people don't contemplate committing crimes that would force them to flee the country. On the other hand, should some wild, unthinkable circumstance arise where I was framed or wrongly accused of some heinous crime, then yes, Mexico would be the option for me. I'm only about 4 - 4.5 hours away.

I'd rather do time in a Canadian jail than a Mexican one ! As the song says
"I fought the law and the law won " in all of the above .

Yes, but Mexico is definitely the place to if you've murdered someone. They don't believe in the death penalty I guess, b/c they will not extradite anyone who could face the death penalty for the crime they've committed in their own country.

That is not a very smart theory.

If this were true, why do over 3 million people a year leave.

And I don't think this could be true about a country where justice in the court system for the common man can be bought.

Have you ever read anything about a town named Nuevo Laredo? Yea, pure paradise I tell you. One sheriff managed to stay alive on the job for a whole 3 hours.

mmmm....good ol Nuevo Laredo. Been there a few times. Even saw the donkey show once when I was about 19. That is one crazy ass city.

I'd wear out my keyboard trying to tell all the stories and experiences from there.
