So I downloaded the Pink Floyd reunion vid (wmv format) from Live 8 London. My friend wants a cd of it. I never thought too much of that. Because I got like 30 or more PF albums. So how do I extract the audio? I've seen converting audio formats but not video to audio. Like into I guess to cda format? Looked on the net & here. Would appreciate a name of a simple (free or easy to obtain *wink, wink*) & fast piece of software to do this. Thanks.

WMV :pinch:

if it was AVI I could maybe link a few apps,
but don't now if they would work with WMV....

ok, just checked, and I think the ImTOO ripper can do it,
if you need it lemme know, think I have it stashed :shifty:

-edit- FFS ImTOO's site is fucked, wanted to double check
but they have a pretty capable video>audio ripper if you want to try it

You can do it with dbpoweramp, you should be able to find the free version somewhere

and download the Windows Media codec http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-wma.htm

The low tech way is a 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack cable.

I can think of an even lower tech way. Close your eyes.

Couldn't you google search for "WMV to AVI", use whatever free program you find there and then use VirtualDub to extract the audio from the AVI in whatever bitrate you want?

and save as mp3

this is a file sharing forum, yer fuggin off my file sharing

'course I didn't think of dbpoweramp, didn't know it would decode WMA from a video file,
else I would've recommended it first
knew it would do WMA -> MP3, but I know fk about WMV, I don't use it :snooty:

and Windows Movie Maker..... :snooty::snooty: teh double snoots :P
