Make internet super lite (adblock)

to adblock in firefox to see what happened,expecting no pages to show
instead it seems it removes absolutly everything to do with graphics.

could somebody explain what exactly happens when you do so?
i guess adblock merelly removes grfx elements
pages load faster (i think) but isnt there a feature to remove all images - yet this feature does not remove all...

Ya it will still show text but if there are stylesheets, backgrounds, images, scripts, etc. that are stored outside of the page it wont show.
