.............American actors are at playing Britons.

Jamie Bamber (Apollo/Lee Adama) on Battlestar Galactica and Hugh Laurie (Gregory House) on House are prime examples.

Hugh Laurie is especially good. He totally makes that show...

If the chaps on Battlestar Galactica are from a far distant planet, how in the name of feck would that make them American. Or are all goodies just assumed to be American.

I was told by one of yer UK counterparts that he has an American accent.

For instance, Baltar is British.

If you couldn't figure that out without me saying ACCENTS then you need to sit a corner with your dunce cap on.

If you couldn't figure that out without me saying ACCENTS then you need to sit a corner with your dunce cap on.No, for instance Blatar has a English accent. He isn't a British character, as your assertion 'Baltar is British' suggests - he's from Caprica.

It's all well and good you telling us that we should be able to decipher your prose but if you wrote it properly in the first place, it wouldn't be neccesary.

If you meant that English actors mimic American accents better than American actors perform English accents, you should have said so.

I just imagined him to be the type who wouldn't dare go to a busy pub but sits quietly in the local sipping half a diet Tango for hours. Getting all worried, due to small stature and bitch titties, if a group of lads came in - in case they took the piss.

I'd buy him an half and give him pool money so when he got home, he could tell his Mam that someone likes him

The fact that he posted something entirely different is everyone else's fault. Why should he have to do all the work for you lot.

FFS stop trying to work out what people mean by the words they type (allied to their order, obviousement).

I always wondered how British actors/actresses played Americans. I thought it would be funny to watch a British actor play someone from Texas. I always wondered how they would suppress their accents while playing Americans.
