OMG this add-on is just jaw dropping...
http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/2005/09/14/lost_coast_screens/1.html
check out the insane system requirements:
2.4ghz cpu
1 gig of ram
nvidia 6800 or x800 if u want smooth game play, anything less gets choppy on higher resolutions
My friend has a amd athlon 64 3200+, 1 GB ram, and Nvidia 6800GT. He gets around 40 fps at 1280 by 1024 with high details, so that should give you an idea as to how power hungry the game is
I played the game at a friend's house, and it looked absolutely stunning... I love source engine, it's so realistic. If fact, real life graphics suck, so life shud run on source engine
Yeah its nice, My comp cant run it tho :(

Yes the HDR does look amazing but I won't bother dling it even though I have Steam and acess to it. I hear that the new Counter Strike Source maps will include HDR. :D
In the update news it says de_nuke will be the first cs source map to have HDR lighting.

my comp can run it yay :D so do i just dl using steam or do i have to pay for it :( (in that case...torrentspy?)
edit: hmmm when i click install in steam, it says itll only let me download a demo? i thought it was a full version, and it says that i dont meet the system requirements (wtf):
Recommended:
CPU: 2.9 Ghz
RAM: 1GB
Video Card: DirectX 9 Capable
Your System (mine):
CPU: 2.4 Ghz (AMD)
RAM: 2GB
Video Card: ATI x800
perhaps a glitch, because i have a 3800+ but it shows up as a 2.4 ghz (which it is) they'll prob. fix that soon enough, and it also says this:
Lost Coast is a free update for owners of Half-Life 2 which has been built to showcase the latest in real-time graphics, including HighDynamic Range lighting. As such, it has unusually high system requirements.
so my question is, is it only a demo or is there a full version out there?

I don't think Valve has ever released on time.
NICE!
Unfortunately, Valve was unable to release de_nuke in today's update for unknown reasons, but Valve was able to release dod_argentan for Day of Defeat: Source. It appears that de_nuke will be released tomorrow. Also included in today's update is a fix to a small bug in Rag Doll Kung Fu. The full change-log is below.
* Day of Defeat: Source:Added new map dod_argentan
* Rag Doll Kung Fu:Fixed not being able to play past the second level transition
No cs map :( Gotta check this DODS shit out fo sho.

LC was pretty fuckin sweet, although really short (not even a demo, i guess it was more on the tech side with the commentary and all), pushes gfx to the max.
