I'm looking to buy a new or used guitar amplifier.

I used to have a Squire Guitar Amp (http://www.guitartrader.com/itm_img/EGFN21-SE100PAK-f.jpg). It was part of the starter kit, but it died on me.

I've been looking at this amp (http://www.pricegrabber.com/p__Peavey_Peavey_TransTube_Rage_158_1x8_Guitar_Combo_Amplifer,__142365020

http://ai.pricegrabber.com/product_images/14236000-14236999/14236502_640.jpg --->$88

I saw it at my local guitar center (Galaxy Music) and they had it used for like $112

Does anyone have any reccomendations for a guitar amp around the 100-120 range?

that is a really good amp in my opinion. my buddy used to have one and it sounded real nice to me. it packed quite a bit of punch for a little guy.

crate (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=guitar/search/detail/base_pid/487683/) also makes some nice smaller amps. however, most amps in that price range will be about the same in quality.

When I was a young (much younger, in fact) and aspired to be a guitar legend, Peavey's were my amp of choice.
Couldn't afford Marshalls of course, but the Peavey was a damn fine unit.
Danny Gatton had to borrow mine for a while and thought it was OK, too.

Wish I still had it.
Wish I still had the guitars too (at one point I owned an ex-Roy Buchanan '59 D neck Tele and a gold topped Les Paul.)

Did you have to sell them to pay rent or something?

No, I sold them because I lost interest and did not appreciate the value of what I had.

I sold them for "a lot" of money...money does not begin to quantify how precious some things can be.
I just wish I still had them (particularly the Tele) just for what they meant to me, not for any potential windfall profits they may have accrued.
