Okay so as some of you may know i have just made a new computer.(yay yay fo r me). The processor is an amd 64 3200+ stock heatsink and fan, a 120 exaust fan, and a 80 intake fan. Along with a couple vents. Now, i wanna stay as cool as possible with as little amount of money, what tips do you as fst have for me to cool my pc down. Right now its bios says around 27 C* which i think could be wrong, but may be right i dont really know. Anyways what are my possibilities for cooling my pc down

27degrees is a really good temp, 50+ is a bad temp.

Yup 27C is good. But it's more important to know the temps under full load.

Btw. Your 64bit CPU uses 90nm technology and runs very cool.

Install Everest Home Edition (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/everest.html).
Open program and click on "Computer" then "Sensor".
Pay attention to all your temps, they are representative of your system as a whole.
Concentrating on just the CPU, especially if that attention is to the detriment of the GPU or northbridge, is counterproductive.

27C is a phenomonal resting temp (what is your room ambient, BTW?), but not as important as a load temp reading.
Install Prime95 (http://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v2414.exe) and run it overnight ( Open App>Options>Torture Test>inplace large FFts).
No, one hour is not enough.
And put the side panels on please.

Now what are your temps?
Actually, the absolute temp is irrelevant (mainly cause you'll never really know it through software anyway), what IS important is the differential from idle temp (commonly referred to as "deltaT").
Clearly, the lower the deltaT, the better.

Report back when you have something of interest to say....

STUPID BIOS TELLING ME WRONG INFORMATION!
Everest tells me my cpu is 70 WHICH IS HORRIBLE HELP!
All my other parts are around 27 though. What are my options, i want to lower that now because its at rest rate and its at 70* CELSIUS

First be sure everest is right and that you're reading the right temp.
Feel the heatsink (tap it first to make sure it's not burning hot) and see how hot it feels.

sounds like your mixing up farenheight and celcius....

I would trust the BIOS reading over any software running in Windows.

i touched the heatsink after running for a couple hours, wasnt hot at all.
The bios says like 30's
but everest says 70 how can there be that big of a difference?

are we all sure were talking about the same temperature measurments, aka celcius?

yes we are all talking about celcius but im positive my cpu isnt 70* because my mobo's program says its around 27 while my bios says like 3 off

Yes, a screenshot would be nice. I still don't think your situation is possible. Possibly mixing up F and Celsius even though you insist that you haven't?

If it doesn't feel hot when you touch it it's not 70.

Unless there is very poor heat transfer between the CPU and the heatsink.

But I don't think that's the case this time.

ill take a couple of screen shots once i get that computer up online
