Okay so my computer has shared video memory (soo stupid) but i never play games on so i was thinking if i changed Video memory to 32 megs rather than it being 64 megs and taking away 64 megs from my ram (512-64=448) will it affect my computers performance in terms of applications running , rember i dont play games , i do alot of photoshop , flash , and programming (c, c+ , vb.net etc ) , so will it effect my computers performance?

How about just adding more system RAM?

see, I'm stingy about my system memory/resources/etc.
I'd throw an old PCI gfx card in it at least, but that's just me

64MB Radeon 7000 rawx!!!!! :01:

You need to check if you've got any spare ram slots before you start buying more ram. If you haven't got any spare slots you will have to replace existing sticks with higher capacity ones. If you have got spare slots you need to check what memory type you've already got so that the extra ram is compatible.

Adding a gig (1024MB) will give you a total of 1504MB, you could safely put the other 32MB back on your shared graphics leaving you with 1472MB, or with a new graphics card you'll get the other 32MB back giving you 1536MB.

On the other hand, if an extra 32MB has made such a big difference you probably only need an extra 512MB.

Mostly for memory intensive applications, such as today's 3D games or video editing software such as Premiere.
