...and I am increasingly gladdish that it is so.

My daughter has married, and I will become grandfatherly late January or early February.

The ultrasound piccies reveal a man-infant. :)

I only give rein to that impulse if the child is of particularly flaccid liberal stock.

This child shall suffer no such fate.

I am having some difflculty focusing on the fact of the matter; I have been so pleasantly surprised the two youngsters reached the decision to marry without my having to state for that case, as I would have (perhaps to my regret) felt compelled to.

I've mused that my active parenting days might be largely past, and, in this instance, I'm happy to observe....happily. :)

Thank you for your wishes.

Good on ya, j2.

Now you can blossom into the eccentric old curmudgeon grandpa that has always been your fate.

If you need any pointers just look to Dick Cheney.

I'm sure she'd prefer to do that herself, but I'll decipher the comment for her.

Actually, she just (a day or so ago) became a member here in order to play in the arcade; perhaps she'll read all this...:)

Her reactions might be interesting.:D

FFS you guys stay warm up there. I just spoke with my sister who lives in Chicago and she told me it’s a flippin mess. There is no way that I’d ever be able to live there because I’m such a wuss when it comes to the cold weather. The high today was 45 degrees and I have the heater on in the shop like its 45 below zero.

Tone-lowering is what we do best; krispy will learn this and assimilate soon enough.

The young one (assuming all goes well) will be learn to think logically, and, as regards the larger view, naturally embark on a path informed by the world in which he will live.

His Mother and Father can now apply themselves to the task of refining and tailoring their own thought-processes to accomodate the child as a factor in their own "new" world.

I will be available for consultation, of course. :)

As to the political question, I remind you all what I've said several times, and admonish you not to forget:

Republicans suck, but they're still better than Democrats.

Bush has his problems; Kerry would have had many, many more...;)

krispy-

This last is a reference born of the monumental misapprehension germinated by a member whose acronymic shall forever be N-D.T.B.F.

He knows not what he speaks...or, rather, he does, but most often chooses a lower road in thought and expression.

I've not lost hope he will change, but it seems unlikely he will.

BTW-you should keep a dictionary handy; this lot's tone is not dining-table material, and I am perhaps the forum's worst offender.

My charm is all that keeps me afloat, here.
