Why do you think SATA is the issue?

I wouldn't let Norton within spitting distance of Sprocket...it's absolute crap, rivalling AOL for it's pervasiveness and obnoxious behaviour.

86 it NOW!

I'm somewhat disturbed hearing about your SATA driver install erroring out...not good.
If you do a repair install (NOT the repair console) you don't lose any data/apps (theoretically).

Jeez.
All this crap would go away with a wipe/reload of the OS.
Do it now, get over it and begin to enjoy your new PC.

I don't get it.
Your PC should whip through an install, surely not much longer than 30-35 minutes, so what's all the sighing about?
There are members of this forum whose machines take longer than that to just render a page, so suck it up, Private!*

*Just working on my R. Lee Ermey imitation there. Please, just carry on as you were.*

I thought the ice cream was for the help provided for your new PC. Now you want discounted RAM?

Disgusting.

Oh, it's not a problem.

Of course, my definition of "discounted ram" is "RAM that doesn't work" and I have access to LOTS of that.
How many keychains do you want to make?

Better be damn fine ice cream then.

The RAM will be free but the shipping&handling is going to be pricey.
My 35 year old car only gets @25 MPG.

Hmmm. Interesting guessing game...

Can we guess what 1970 car gets 25 MPG and that clocker would drive?

I'm thinking that 25 MPG is quite good for that era. I wonder if it's overclocked.

clocker

Build date was June of 1971.
That's 25mpg on the highway...city driving goes down to @20, and in the winter (like now, dammit) I'm on the choke all the time, so it's even worse.
And yes, it's heavily modified.
It even runs exceptionally cool.
So cool that the heater is basically useless even with half the rad blocked off and a higher temp thermostat installed.

Keep guessing.
J2 can't enter...he's actually seen it.
