T3406 is the model number for the PC. Its a cheap one. I'm doing this for my uncle since he isn't able to go online. The restore cDs don't work. He called tech support. They tried to help him out but they got into an arguement and tech support said that the most they can do because he bought a "cheap" one and not a better one.

are there any alternatives?
He doesn't want to pay for them to send the driver disc so thats out of the question.

That machine uses a fairly common AC '97 Audio sound chip.

You can download the driver for him and put it on a diskette or a CD for him.

I would just start here . http://www.google.ca/search?q=+T3406+modem+drivers&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

Just becareful with some of the drivers site's their brutal for junk mail when you sign up to get the drivers . I would think Emachine has a web site for drivers tho .

Its funny two problems with sound drivers on the forum tonite . Xp seemed to forget that with their driver cabs . I'v ran in to the same problem this week , XP has all the net card , Video and Mobo drivers but failed us with the sound drivers . Hindsite is an ass kicker hopefully Vista will address this .
