so i dwld cm4, extracted the files from the .bin using WinISO and ran setup.

i get a message saying that the file 'data1.cab' is corrupt and installation can't continue. :angry:

anyone else had this problem? must be a way round it. :huh:

by the way, the file size is 287 MB (301,954,464 bytes)

Yea files get corrupted after beeing on kazaa a while :/
Try getting the game using bittorrent:

BTW if you`re unfamiliar with bittorrent, you`ll need the bittorrent software to be able to download, do a search on Kazaa, should be fairly easy to get. B)

this is a rip dont be fooled with the size it unpacks to 580mb.

I don`t know if it`s the bin or a rip..
You might wanna try cd mage to scan the file if you haven`t allready done so btw. It scans the file for corruption and leaves you with an option to try to repair the file if it finds any corrupted sectors.

i'm having trouble with bittorrent, is it 'windows installer i dwld first and then what?

what cd image (?) scans and repairs corrupt files?

Your download is fine. I recieved the same message.

My solution: Do a custom install and choose to leave out backgrounds, sounds & quickstarts (they all just slow the game down anyway) and it should install fine. Then you can add all the updates etc.

I spent days trying get to cm4 with bittorent it stayed at 80%. Used Torrent spy it said there was no completed files to download from.

randomguy, i did a custom install and turned off the three options, but still the same error comes up :(
and it seems bittorrent is useless too.

so what now? pay for the actual game :o :lol:

Don`t know if it`ll help you, but you should atleast give it a try

Anyway if that doesn`t work, then I`m out of suggestions, beside d/l the file once more. You might wanna check out another p2p software called eMule (http://www.emule-project.net/) though. I hear it automatically checks your files for corruption and in the case of a corruption, it`ll download that part automatically to ensure a corruption free download.

Oh yeah, I also turned the bin to an iso first (which you can get here (http://www.dcemulation.com/dl/dl.php3?url=files/needed/bin2iso.zip)) then ran it with daemon tools. I don&#39;t know if that will make a difference but it worked for me so it must be worth a try :)
