but
isnt there a chemical/equation or whatever so a physiacist can read that the H20 is frozen - eg -h20 or something

Ice is still H2O, but it's in the 'solid' state. (solid, liquid, gas, plasma)

It has only undergone a physical change, not a chemical one. ;)
