But there is enough interest for it to be as a chapter ( :P ) in Another World.

There is no logic in having book hashes in software verifieds.

Another World could be useful as a home for other small interests.

Other people have asked if audiobooks would be "accepted" in Bookworld. Yes. Of course. I&#39;ve had a few from time to time myself, although a most unfortunate computer-generated voice forced me to get rid of them. I remember someone saying that books are for reading, not listening to. However, the reason that audiobooks came about was as an alternative for the blind to enjoy books. Translating works into braille is costly and time-consuming. Of course, audiobooks caught on and eventually more people used them. There&#39;s also the different-yet-similar matter of radio-plays, which are very enjoyable. Perhaps they could be called the first audiobooks.

Now I see people saying about comics. I know a lot of people have them. I don&#39;t. But what I have or don&#39;t have shouldn&#39;t be the be all and end all. ;) I&#39;ve really never been interested in comics, after X-Men started deteriorating. But, most certainly, comics would have a place in Bookworld too. They are "comic books" after all.

The one thing that I believe doesn&#39;t have a place in Bookworld is pornography. I don&#39;t care if anyone disagrees with me (and I&#39;m sure a lot of you will), but there it is. First and foremost, pornography isn&#39;t difficult to find. On Kazaa, you can stumble across it by accident. On the internet, you can stumble across it by accident. I can think of a number of searches that brought up pornography on Google, at least. The most "interesting" one of these would be my search for "network systems admin" and landed me on a Russian male mail-order bride page. Maybe one of them was a network admin, I don&#39;t know. ;)

Anyhow, I&#39;m sure it was no suprise to anyone what I just said. ;) I&#39;ve been saying it for a while now.

Most people read Shakespeare&#39;s plays. However they were written as plays, i.e to be watched and experienced. They were not intended to be read. As such I would argue that to watch the movie of Richard III with Olivier is truer to the original experience than to read the book.

@jetje: I disagree. There is a lot of subsections for literature. I mean, so far we&#39;ve already got the traditional books, comic books, and audio books. Some people have copious amounts of one format or another. Personally, I&#39;ve got about 4 gigs worth of books. And they&#39;re the most popular of my uploads, only second to The Sims Unleashed. Go figure. ;)

You can have a Bookworld without porn in it. The vast majority of books are not pornographic. We have Musicworld without porn, we have Softwareworld without porn, we have Gameworld without porn, hell, even Movieworld is mostly free of porn. The line has to be drawn somewhere.

Try reading what I wrote. I said that the history behind the Kama Sutra wasn&#39;t relevant to the discussion. I wasn&#39;t aware I had to spell everything out.

Again, try reading what I wrote. I&#39;ve stated a number of times why pornography shouldn&#39;t be in Bookworld. I&#39;ve stated a number of times why pornography shouldn&#39;t be on this forum.

Actually, we have been told pornography isn&#39;t allowed. Bender edited a few posts with pornographic content not terribly long ago. The fact that this board is rather self-regulating is nice. People seem to forget that minors often visit this board, and while I have no misconceptions about the fact that they&#39;ll find porn if they want to, it doesn&#39;t necessarily mean we have to condone it. And the lack of pornography in the other worlds is terribly relevant.

Have you actually tried to find a specific book on the Fasttrack network? It isn&#39;t nearly as easy as you seem to think. Sure, books like Harry Potter are easy to find. But what about one like Burnt Bones? Almost impossible.

I have no divine rights. I may be descendant from British nobility, but we&#39;ve stopped using the Divine Right long ago. ;) This board hasn&#39;t really truly been free to talk about whatever one wishes. It&#39;s not the fault of the admin, or the mods, but rather the fault of the other board members. It&#39;s rather difficult to take an opposing viewpoint on an issue when all you recieve is: "u sux&#33;" and a litany of poorly thought-out flames. ;) This isn&#39;t actually directed at you, Nemo, it&#39;s just a general observation that fit into that tangent. ;)

Well, for the spreading of books, I can&#39;t say for most people, but like I said, mine are found (somehow) without any advertising. Most of mine I&#39;ve brought over from other networks, since I don&#39;t have a scanner myself. I&#39;ve found that there are people on the network that don&#39;t put proper keywords on things, but they have the same file as someone else. All in all, it depends what you&#39;re looking for, just like everything else. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is probably easier to find than Bullfinch&#39;s Mythology. Braveheart is easier to find than Jude, The Sims is easier to find than Gabriel Knight II, etc. ;)

The little :swear: guy isn&#39;t any actual word anymore. Just : swear : I once had a discussion with someone else about freedom of speech and how it related to forums. Basically it boiled down to that the forum&#39;s privately owned, so freedom of speech is a moot point. It&#39;s a benevolent dictatorship, not a democracy. It&#39;s not so much an issue here; the mods and admin aren&#39;t nearly as heavy-handed as they were there.

People equate images with pornography. It&#39;s become an euphemism, sadly enough. People talk about how it&#39;s best to have a collection of "images" to keep a good PL (or they did, before the constant 1000 PL). People look for celebrity "images." So that was a generalization on my part.

I am for the Bookworld, but do not feel it should be without porn. We have never been told(that I am aware of) that porn is not allowed. Just that pornographic pics and links to directly pornographic sites are not allowed in our posts.

Having hashes for these things is allowed but having a pic of porn is frowned upon and in certain instances banned.

But I think the Bookworld or Otherworld should have subsections in it for general categories. If you don&#39;t want to see hashes for pics or porn magazines or whatever you need not look in that subcatagory.

And ease of finding something on kazaa should not be a determining factor either. Are we gonna say that Britanny Spears music hashes are not allowed in Music World? ;)

First, if there wasn&#39;t a large interest in porn, it wouldn&#39;t be as widely available as it is.

Second, Adult World was not voted down. In fact it had an overwhelming majority of the votes (more then 80%). Much more then Book World in fact ;)

I think if theres going to be an adult world, then it should be for over 18s and by invite from the mods/admin only. That way kids can&#39;t get upset or even parents can&#39;t get upset by kids going in there.

as for merging things, i think the "problems" and "connection problems" in the kazaa related should be merged, add a bookworld, or a world that will handle books, and anything else, posably with sub worlds (countries??) etc, and the overall number of things here will stay the same

I would support an Adult World but am just as happy that we are allowed to post the hashes in existing worlds.

That&#39;s my point, though. A vast majority of your so-called celebrity pics aren&#39;t real. I can&#39;t put up a verified hash on A Guide to Cold Fusion, because it doesn&#39;t exist. ;) There are ones that are better than others, but a good majority of them are fake to begin with. So, it really doesn&#39;t matter.

"Harry Potter:" 227 files

Why bother putting up verified hashes for Britney Spears naked, when it&#39;s most likely not real, and there are 759 other porn things to look at? It&#39;d be an excerise in redundancy. So what if #429 isn&#39;t Britney Spears, but some porn star dressed up to look like her, or some porn star with her head pasted over top? I doubt anyone who&#39;s looking for that stuff is interested in the reality of them.

Im not anti bookworld, but i do question its need, and content. I mean, I love comics, prolly have a bigger collection then most people here, have tons of books, etc. I love to read.
