i didn't know there was a PSP 8

but anyway, i've asked this myself once - generally everyone agrees with Jibbler's view
i've never used photoshop because the thought of something harder to use than PSP scares me

I would highly recommend Photoshop 7, and I also use Premiere 6 for the vid cam, and it`s equally as impressive. It takes a bit of time at the start, but once you get familiar,it`s great fun.
cheers,
Bass.

if your serious about photo/image editing then Photoshop is unbeatable, but have both installed, PSP loads so much faster for a simple edit, especaly if you start using any of the plugins for Photoshop....

photoshop is definately the best and the most widely used but will take you a while to get the hang of. All the pros use photoshop, and beacuase it is the most used tutorials and help on uses are often easier to find

I noticed paint shop pro 8 has changed along the lines of photoshop, but found paint shop pro 8 took longer to start up, so i went back to paint shop pro 7 for the quick views.

Needless to Say, Adobe Photoshop 7.0 is the leading graphic/image editing software. It's second to none!! Paintshop <_< . AP7 all the way!

If you are experienced with image editing get Adobe Photoshop 7.
For the easy way, get Psp ;)

There's a PSP 8?

Like everyone else said, if you want easy, go with PSP....if you want the best go with Photoshop.

Photoshop is the world standard for anything and everything that is a visual media (graphics, video, printing, advertising, ect)

If you think Adobe Photoshop is hard
then try Adobe Premiere, to really warp your mind.

Photoshop 7 - More powerfull, more expensive, hard to use.
Paint Shop Pro 8 - Less expensive, easy to use.

Install and keep both in my opinion. :)

Corel PhotoPaint 11. Period. It combines the professionality of Photoshop and the ease of use of PSP - it's truly the best app out there. Its only demerit is that it becomes sluggish on large images (about 20+ MB), that's why pros prefer Photoshop. But from your gfx stuff i can see that you mostly do small pics so... Corel PP > all :) Also, Corel Draw is the best Vector app hands down.

I totally agree...but PSP has it good points, it's ease of use being the main one!
