Is the 6 GB smaller than the 20 because in the pic it looks the same size but only 20 bucks cheaper.

and what happened to the old ones. I remember they competed with the ipod photos but with some sort of hack you could play vids on it

EDIT. The H300 series.

I think I'm going to take Cheese's advice and get a Creative Zen for my woman.

I like either the the Zen Micro 6GB, Zen Microphoto (pics, 8GB, more battery time), or the Zen Sleek (for 20GB).

I'm leaning toward the Zen Micro 'cause the Microphoto cost $50 more and you don't gain as much.

I honestly don't understand why people like the Ifad.

The Zen can serve as a portable HD, works with mp3, WMA, and WAV, costs less, has a better interface, has an FM radio, doesn't need iTunes, and the Micro can take new rechargable batteries.

Maybe people are just following the hype without research. I still have som'ore to do actually. I've, so far, looked at the Sandisk, iRiver, and Zen.

Bear in mind that a lot of the large capacity ones are HDD based rather than solid state. It's important to know how someone will be using the machine and whether it will be subject to a lot of jarring.
