I got a little problem... Went to download something and got a problem with my desktop.

http://img518.imageshack.us/my.php?image=helpme0tw.jpg

Is there a problem that I can use to remove this? I change change my wallpaper and other random programs are running. I did go to safe mode and deleted most of the other ones.

Thanks for any help.

i got this once too. get spybot and adaware. also get microsoft adware removal tool (it's in beta)

run all 3. remove everything that they catch

this is actually a spyware that forcibly installs this annoying adware program. it's not hard to remove

Thanks a lot, I will try that.

Edit: Everything worked out great. :) But now during window startup, i get two errors about VCMain.exe failed to load...Is this something important?

Also try CWShredder. As I believe VCMain.exe is a coolwebsearch variant.

vcmain.exe is part of the spyware

get something like ccleaner and registry mechanic and clean ur registry. this should fix the problem

also go to start > run > msconfig
go to startup, if u see vcmain.exe in there, uncheck it

Okay, thanks a lot. I only got this pop up left. It's called "computer registry software" and for some reason adaware and spybot can't delete it. Anyway I can get rid of it?

Thanks for all your help.

It's the messenger service. Google how to turn it off.

I think you are right. It is coming from MSN...but how come before I never had this problem? When I have it off, the pop up from weird places are gone.

Ummm...Any clues why?

Thanks.

Nevermind, still getting them. =\

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\r?ndll.exe
Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and end these processes, then delete the files.

Run Hijakthis again, and mark/fix these items:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank

O20 - Winlogon Notify: ssldr - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ssldr32.dll

Also, if you don't know what these are, I suggest Googling for info, then deleting them if they're undesirable or if no results are turned up:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BrowserUpdateSched] C:\WINDOWS\system32\nwintsaw.exe DRCA02
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Ctrh] "C:\Program Files\cola\sunn.exe" -vt ndrv

O4 - Startup: Zeno.lnk = C:\WINDOWS\system32\nwintsaw.exe

Rin Hijackthis again, scan & save the log, then post it here.

You've probably still got lots of malware issues on there.
