View Full Version : Monday Night Football bought by ESPN
Monday Night Football, which has been on ABC for 35 years will be broadcast on ESPN starting next year. I wonder why ABC didn't keep it?

Same parent company owns ABC & ESPN. They say it's cause of low ratings for MNF. I don't believe it. I think it's so they can add value to their cable station ESPN. Because even though ESPN is offered free or at basic rates in a cable or dish package. ESPN gets a certain $ amount per subscriber. This way they can charge more to the cable & dish companies.

Yep Disney owns them.
I still think it's weird for ABC NOT to have it on but almost everyone does have cable now.
