like mpg dvix xvid .....and read data dvd´s

This seems to be the latest offering from Umax/Yamada.

Don't know much about it since it is fairly new, but the 6600 and 6700 have both been excellent models.

I'm not sure what you mean by reading data dvds. All disks with avi, jpg or mp3 files are by definition data disks. If that's what you mean then there are no problems.
