APPLE'S love affair with Intel has begun even earlier than expected.
Today, Apple chief executive officer Steve Jobs unveiled the first generation of Apple Mac computers which uses Intel's latest microprocessors, months ahead of schedule.

It is a historic move because Intel chips have been traditionally used in computers running Microsoft Windows.
Apple had previously shunned Intel chips and used IBM-made PowerPC chips.
With Intel's more power-efficient chips, Apple now has a shot at increasing its market share of computers, which stands at about 4 per cent in the US.

Mr Jobs also showcased a new version of Apple's iLife software, targeted at the Internet generation.
