Do you want an external or internal dvd burner?

Also, the one you're looking at is shitty. for starters, it's only 8X so get a better one.

Why does the fact that it's 8X make it shifty? Do you know about a faster Slim DVD Burner for laptops?

NEC ND-6750A: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152069

nice but pretty expensive. 8x times is the fastest laptop drive i've seen.

i've had a look on the nec uk site and they dont mention the 6750a, but it looks pretty much the same as the 6650a,

ive also seen sony and lite-on drives. is nec the best to go for?

Shame you didn't ask a little earlier, I could have asked the tech support guys at CCL when I was in on Saturday, though to be fair they probably don't have much dealing with slimlines. I'll see if there's anything on their forum.

Edit: nope, nothing there.

they only seem to stock 2 slimline drives, the nec one, and i think the other is a lite-on, but its more expensive, and is slot loading.
