It's very rare that I want to go to the same page when I start my browser, so I don't bother wasting bandwidth. I suppose that's probably a hangover from when I had dialup.

I do search a lot.
Sometimesi find that I just wanna look something up so i quickly hit teh firefox icon and can then type away what ever i wante to look for.
Plus it loads faster than most other sites...I dont use about:blank because I also like to use my browser as a check to see if my net is working or not.:)

personal google- tells me the weather, my email, breaking news, top headlines from all the major news chanals- bbc, cnn, times, USA today, Reuters, links to sites that I visit a lot, news from tech/nerd sites like wired, slashdot, toms hardware, a stock ticker, clock, and an internet slang translater. when I open a web page, I can see instantly how my stock is doing, what email came in, and any breaking news on almost any front. is that a good enough reason for having google?
