only extension I use is Tab Mix Plus
of course it said it wouldnt work anymore,
so I say f*ck it and upgrade FF anyway,
and whaddaya know? there's an update to TMP
works fine now

only thing so far is I had FF hang on a .PDF last night
don't know if that's the browser's fault or the site's fault
(haven't had time to look into it)

To enable all extensions in the new FF:

1. At the location bar, enter: about:config. This will show you a list of Firefox internal preferences.
2. Right-click on the list, select New > String
3. Enter “app.extensions.version” (without quotes) for the preference name.
4. Then, enter “1.5.0” (without quotes) as the value for app.extensions.version.
5. Restart Firefox, then enable those disabled Firefox extensions.
6. Restart Firefox again. Done.

Try FF and Opera and see which one you like.

Are you just starting to use tabbed browsing?

It's been around forever. I had it in IE6 with an add-on.

Yeah FF is great. I just didn't like having to fuck with it all the time. It'll encounter something it doesn't like and just stop working.

I just want the browser to work first and foremost.

Opera was the fastest browser I've used which was a big plus.

With me it's the Spellbound extension and libraries that are disabled , Download manager is kaput too . Oh well small price to pay, Adblock is a nightly so no worrys there , Fasterfox and IE view are fine aswell.

I'm sure its just a matter of a few days before we see them all supported again .

Neither did mine. I think it's because last time I installed a "Release Candidate".

Really annoyed that it wiped out my custom-made search extensions

I let the autoupdater do it's work and it didn't break any of my plugins.

mine hasnt auto updated since 1.07
That's because v.1.5 is a new major version, you need to manually download and install v1.5 and it will continue updating automatically to new versions like 1.5.0.1, 1.5.02 etc...

I had the same problem, you can still force them to work with 1.5.2. (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/showpost.php?p=1252484&postcount=11)

sounds like somthing-other-than-FireFox
I can have multiple windows and still only use about 64 megs
which, I think, is up from the last release by about 10-15 megs

at any rate, I'm starting to not like this release

i'm having problems with opening ff using an outside link. ie:someone sends me a link via msn messenger and ff isn't open. i click on the link and nothing happens. i have to open ff first then click on the link for it to work. pretty gay.

God damnit, this crashing is really pissing me off. It hardly ever used to crash, but now since 1.5+ it's like a normal occurance, seriously.

This happens every time I run Java based chats or somesuch.

I second that I just formated and installed this buggy crap on a clean computer and got an error on first try ! Even the FF safemode did n't work .
Gone back to 1.0.4 for now and just installed anouther 512 mb to bump up to 1 gb memory and this puppy is flying . Wonder why some have a problem and others don't ? This is the first time I'v been able to post with out an error in the last week
of trying 1.0.5

No tweaks or extensions just the default install today of an older version and Its great . Back to the drawing board FF team .

Does Firefox have a plug-in to get bookmarks and stuff in a planel like Opera? I love the panels in Opera. I downloaded Firefox to check it out; however, as soon as I noticed that there were no panels I closed it.

I like to organize my bookmarks into a bunch of specific sub categories. The panels in Opera make it easy to navigate bookmarks organized in this way. However, the drop down menu makes it a pain in the but.

Yeah I like that about Opera too but I could have sworn I saw an extension for FF that does just that. I'll check it out.
