When I bought my comp they said I could just return the monitor if any dead pixels come about. Its got a 3 year warranty, Ive never heard of ways to get rid of em  What brand is the monitor btw?

You want more stuff to be sceptical about?

I've never heard about any good way to fix dead pixels (just saw something about massaging the screen, but I'm sceptical about that :dabs:), far as I know you'll have to live with it. However, any dead pixels aren't going to be very noticeable, or the monitor would not have passed whatever testing they do.

i heard they dont test for dead pixels

BUT!
I received the moniter and hooked it up, its HUGE! it looks great too,
also no dead pixles.
the 19 inch after tax and shipping and after rebates was only 217

How is the brightness and response time on that monitor Supra?

I'm about to buy another LCD, and that one looks funny, but it's an insanely good price for a 19", if it's actually a good monitor.

I can't decide whether to try out yours, or get another ViewSonic:

I want an LCD moitor, but I dont have the money :(

I know on tv's, companies give warranties on dead pixels (ex. toshiba lcd tvs - 8 or more dead pixels and you can return it)

Some sites will honor even 1 dead pixel as a replacement, but Newegg will only replace with 8 or more, which is sort of scary, but my last one didn't have any dead pixels, so...

Even worse....some manufacturers require not only "x" number of dead pixels but ALSO that 3 or more of them abut each other.
My Dad's 17" has developed one dead guy after a year...he never noticed it, but it's the first thing I see whenever I go to work on his PC.

Yeah, he turns 80 on March 7th.

Maybe I'll buy him a new pixel for his birthday.

What's the point of getting him a new one if he can't see the one heez got.
