Resident Evil 4 corrupts non-Sony memory cards?

I saved the game in re4 onto a Maxx 16mb ps2 memory card. and it corrupted everything!

i searched around online, and apparently, RE4 is only compatible with genuine sony made memory cards. anyone else have this problem?

Yeah i was reading torrent coments on RE4, at torrentspy.com, and some people stated their save game file for re4 corrupted, on non-sony memory cards. I saved RE4 on a legit sony 8mb card, and the save game didn't corrupt once, for me...

I thought capcom wrote the code for that game.

it's not sony's fault. although it could all be a gimic for re4 players to buy the sony memory card. it is one of the best and most popular games for ps2

Sony wrote no code for RE4, if theres any issue with non official memory cards it's not Sony's fault, they just stand to gain from the situation.
