no. i currently have directx 9.0c installed. but have dl'ed the latest ver which is 49mb's and it's an extracting file by the name directx 9.0c febuary 2006. when installing f.e.a.r. it tells u to install directx 9.0c december 2005. and some new game i played, can't remember, asked to install 9.0c feb. now, i have formated recently and want to install 9.0c feb, but need to know where to extract. i have googled for the answer, but nothing cums up for the question at hand. no one knows...?

I think DirectX is a self extracting exe. Just extract it to where it is by default.

it's not. it asks u where to extract. i don't need unwanted dx files all over my pc. that's the reason for needing to know wtf to put these files...

Just extract the files to anywhere and a setup.exe file will be created, click on it and it will run installation automatically.
