...to another case, a righteous case.

I have to do away with the current one, (Coolermaster Ammo).
It sux bawls, it's ugly, it's flimsy, it's too fucking loud.
Got it because it offered great airflow at a really cheap price,
but, alas, you get what you pay for.

So, here's what I'm currently eye-balling:

The Stacker, enough said.
This model in particular, because it has the dual 120mm rear fans.

Antec P180. My other Antec (CS600 SOHO) is rock solid....I'm a believer.

Silverstone. Pre-fabbed for redundant PSU installation. Buttloads of cooling.
This one has produced both a stirring in my loins, and a scream of protest from my wallet.

The TJ-07 would be an excellent option if you plan on watercooling.
The lower compartment can easily accomodate a 120.3 rad and the sidepanels are conveniently vented.
It is a bit pricey though.

The Stacker is my choice for an all around platform but not the 810...I much prefer the original STC-t01 with the upper PSU mount (makes wire management/concealment much easier).
Extra 120mm exhaust fans don't impress me much, so that feature on the 810 doesn't trump the dual PSU mounts of the t01, IMO.

No experience with the Antecs although I've heard of quality control issues and extreme wire management hassles in the P-160's. Maybe that has been addressed with the new version.

In general, I tend to shy away from "compartmented" cases simply because of how much they limit install options.
I suppose it depends on what you plan on stuffing into it....

A bit pricey? Sheesh, I'm currently looking for my hacksaw...
to give them the arm & leg they're asking for it. :P

I really like that case, think that might be the one.
(I may take another look at the Stacker, after reading your reply,
but I may just have to splurge on the Silverstone.)

Need to see if PC Club can order the black one, though.
I went to Silverstone's site and took a look at it,
I think I like it better than the silver.

-edit- damn I have poor observational skills....the black Silverstone is listed in PC Club's site...

A friend of mine has one of these. seems to be an excellent case, other than the fact that it looks like a refidgerator.

Hey, I like the plain styling. :)
You probably noticed that none of the cases I linked to are very "complicated" in appearance....
Thing is with that case though, it looks like the only practical cooling option for the HDDs is intake fans.
(doesn't appear to be enough venting to run the fans as exhaust)

meh. guess it will be the Silverstone.
I saw a Stacker 810 for a fair price ($165),
but clocker soured me on that idea...thanks bud.... :P

actually, I almost got it, then started thinking....
about how getting the Stacker meant not getting the Silverstone,
and that kinda killed it right there

-edit- of course, I could get the Stacker now, and in a couple of weeks get the Silverstone...

If you want to get rid of the Stacker in a few weeks, let me know.
I'd kinda like a black one.

I dont know anything about cases but I would probbly go with the Silverstone. I like the exterior look of it and the inside is nicely layed out.

The coolest thing about the TJ07 is the way it's built.
The top, front and bottom are all one piece of molded alloy bent in automotive style presses.
SS also claims to have used screws instead of rivets in assembly, so removing interior panels (which I would almost certainly do) should be a snap.
It appears that the mobo tray could be flipped to BTX config with little trauma (again, something I would at least attempt).

Man, I hope you get it...I'd dearly love to hear some first hand impressions of this beast.

what else is cool about it, I think,
is the back panel being one with the mobo tray
the back fans & exp. cards can be installed w/ less crap in the way

@ clocker - I think the way SS put it was "minimal use of rivets"
which, yeah, is really nice

side note:
PC Club has ~1 week ETA for the SS :(

too bad newegg only has the silver one...

I think Silverstone was caught by surprise at the response to such an expensive case...supply has been thin, especially the black ones.
Too bad they didn't anodize the interior panels black to match the exterior.
That would have been a deal clincher for me.

well....the Stacker's home now
and guess what the only color they had was?

yep.....silver :frusty:

(I failed to note the color yesterday when I saw it on the shelf,
and reserved it ahead of my trip into town today, meh.)
I can always prime & paint it I suppose...

ahh well, the black SS is orderable, and if all goes well,
will place the order in about 2 weeks, get it about 1-2 weeks after that

Jeez...I thought I was the excessive one around here.
Are you really going to build into the Stacker and then ditch it in a month for the TJ?

I salute your silliness.

Yup. I want that TJ.
But I had to get something now because my current case is driving me apeshit.
I can always sell some of this stuff later, or whatever,
but the bottom line is I want the Silverstone. :snooty:

And, yes, I can be silly at times.

Presumably we'll get to see some pics?

If I can get 'er lookin half decent, and not housing a rat's nest,
I think we can arrange some pics.

Excellent.

BTW,
Seems that the black TJ07 is in very short supply everywhere.
Have you gotten on a waiting list yet?
