Windows media player will play old version

For some reason I cannot view clips on the internet becuase it will not use the newer version of windows media player which I have but will play the very old version. Any help would be appreciated.

Give us a little more detail.
Clips don't play in the WindowsMediaPlayer10, but they play in Windows Media Player Classic?

If I were you, I'd install Windows Media Player Lite: http://www.cdlserver.de/medialite/WindowsMediaLite210.exe
I believe it'll offer a method of uninstalling your current version of Windows Media Player, then it'll install in it's place. This one is much faster and more stable than Microsoft's.
