Oh you thought it was funny? Oh well.

I thought nothing of it at the time. When you try to log it, it doesn't say "You're Banned. STFU and STFO". I thought the board had problems so I did something else.

When I logged in and found out what happened, I was just surprised at why.

If ya get banned over something dumb ya just gotta say "Fuck it".

edit: Why is GayPaul on moderation? I started reading about Sports threads in the Lounge and then got bored.

If the Sports section Off-Topic anyway, is it a big deal for Sport topics to be in the Sports section?

I remember making a Family Guy homage type thread in the Lounge and if a mod had moved it to Movieworld, I don't think I'd have cared. I doubt I'd have made a bunch of TV show threads in the Lounge either.

Either way the thread would still exist so what's the big deal?

I wasn't banned anymore. Saying WTF and calling it unfair was about it.

I wouldn't try to get back in either if I stayed banned.

I'd be done.

Oh and there was an edit above.

Oh and there was an edit above.Actually, not only did you piss and moan about being banned - you also pissed and moaned that the members didn't have your back. If I recall, it was only Samurai who commented on the fact it wasn't fair that you got banned, you took umbrage that the rest of us did nothing.

I remember saying that I'd organise a forum-wide hunger strike the next time you got banned til your reinstatement -- to which you replied that you could care less what we did.

Not quite the same as saying 'fuck it'.

I always ignore your edits, BTW.

I believe most of what you said but it doesn't sound like me to get mad 'cause other people didn't have my back.

I think my bit of whinging lasted 3 or 4 posts. I may have mentioned it again when someone else was banned (like Samarai).

Complaining for someone "not sticking up for me" doesn't sound right.

You can always post a link.

Yeah I remember that and was going to post a comment about it yesterday after hearing he became a mod.

However, I don't hold that against him in being a mod. He'd probably be very logical in doling out moderation. I think he also he also had some pain about something before (can't remember everything) so if being a mod helps and he stays logical, so be it.

Oh and in that same thread, I found what you were talking about...although it doesn't quite fit.

I was just recalling stuff off the top of my head - and I was mainly writing stuff to say that you just just say 'fuck it' when you got moderated.

I duno, it still seems to me that you're talking about no-one having your back as it follows on in the conversation that we were having about your moderation and people laughing about it. You didn't contradict me at the time, anyhow.

I think I did pretty well with my recollection of events :snooty:

I agreed. It was 3 or 4 posts. I was thoroughly surprised by the logic.

Other than that, I should've italized Samurai's back.

You made comment about me whinging about folks not having my back when it was Samurai's I was referring to.

Also with me not giving a fuck was to EFF about basically no one being hungry for my hunger strike (or something to that effect).

I was quite surprised at my recollection as well...when you said you glagged at my banning.....I later searched using manker and amusement and found what you said you couldn't find (in the same thread you posted Chewie's post, no doubt).

I think I got put on moderation once around the time Sam4 sent an internet punch halfway round the world and destroyed FC's computer. Fortuanately NikkiD was kind enough to approve my posts pretty sharpish (and SnnY's).

I have no point to make (other than I have whinged about it less and have brought it up less than Busyman) but I just wanted to use the phrase "sent an internet punch halfway round the world".

Where do you chaps get this idea we use metric measurements in the UK.

Everyone I know uses miles, yards, feet, inches, stones, pounds, ounces, gallons, pints, fluid ounces etc.

We use the decimal system for currency, but that's it.

I tend to use both system, having been brought up with them.
The trouble with imperial measurements is that there's no consistency with them...
16 ounces = 1 pound
14 pounds = 1 stone
8 stones = 1 cwt
20 cwt = 1 ton (I think)

12 inches to a foot
3 feet in a yard
2 yards in a fathom
1760 yards in a mile? who the hell came up with that one?

I use whichever is convenient. Metric for bits smaller than an inch, then imperial for bigger stuff. I also use imperial in cooking.

Oddly, I have also used grammes expressed as fractions of ounces. But it seems to work ok

I used to work with a fella who used both. He would regularly give measurements like 2 metres 4 inches.

He did it with no hint of irony.
