You shouldn't need software for a router. Connect to it via Ethernet.

Speedstream is the manufacturer.

It would help if you provided a model number but you can look here for help: http://subscriber.communications.siemens.com/subscriber_networks/homenetworking.shtml

Using your Web Browser
To establish a connection from your PC to the DSL/Cable Router:
1. After installing the DSL/Cable Router in your LAN, start your PC. If your PC is already
running, restart it.
2. Start your Web browser.
3. In the Address box, enter "HTTP://" and the IP Address of the DSL/Cable Router, as in
this example, which uses the DSL/Cable Router's default IP Address:
Quote from the link I provider earlier. On page 10 of the SpeedStream 2624 User Guide.

Can you access the router itself? The default address should be 192.168.254.254, put that into your browser's address bar.

If you can't access the router that way you probably need to reset it to factory defaults. Do that by finding the reset button on the bottom, press it in for more than 4 seconds (but less than 10 seconds) until the power light signals red/green alternately. If your unit has a power button use that instead.

Once you've got access to the router you can configure the WAN interface with the connection type (PPPoE or PPPoA) and any other connection parameters such as username and password. These will have been supplied by your ISP, and you won't get a connection unless they are correct.

Here's (http://www.alltel.net/downloads/links/SpeedStream211.pdf) a link to the manual.

can i use the wireless card for the speed stream on my linksys router??Only if it is a wireless router and conforms to the same specification.

Unless specifically disabled 802.11g is backwards compatible with 802.11b, but neither is compatible with 802.11a.

If they conform you won't get any of the manufacturer specific enhancements, but these only tend to have any practical effect for internal networking, not for internet access.
