I got one too. This is what it says on TL:

as many of you may have read in the TL recent news mercury (our former administrator) was banned from TorrentLeech
for unacceptable behaviour towards our community.

Unfortunately we received the information that during the period he worked on the site, he stole email addresses from power users and vips
of our site. The reason was to start a new torrent site of his own, and spam the users in order to
get new members.

Although we strongly support our members will, to remain as anonymous as possible and we restrict sensitive information
only to top ranked members (admins and sysops), we could not have predicted that one of them was going to defect and use
this information for his personal agenda.

We believe that it is our rensposibility to inform you about this theft of sensitive information, and assure you,
that additional measures have been taken in order to protect your privacy even further. We felt obliged to inform you of the above mentioned, but rest assured that TorrentLeech will
stay the most secure site on the p2p scene and that we strive to make your experience with us as
enjoyable as possible. In the mean time, if u want to change your e-mail address pls feel free to do so.

We value your privacy and anonymity and we hope that our action to inform you proves that.
