Ok so i was plugging my headphones in tonight and misplaced the plug slightly and i noticed a small spark. Is this a problem or is it normal?

I have seen that before- I imagion that it is not good, but it didn't burn anything up on me, so you're probably fine

Might just have been a static discharge.

Yes it works perfectly. Misplaced slightly:meaning i didn't plug it in straight, kind of at angle so the plug just touched the metal part of the jack, thats when i noticed a tiny spark.

lol if it breaks, then you got a problem, by misplaced slightly i thought you meant you stuck it somewhere else (maybe a girl's secret spots ) i heard this stupid story about a girl in my highschool that was doing things with her vagina, and happened to stick a broom in it and then the broom broke! And she had to get like surgery. hhahah lmaos

My wife always does that with her headphone jack, that is very annoying . But seeing as I'm also guilty of putting it in the wrong hole from time to time it's a trade off . ;)

Since your dealing with very low voltage coming out of the computer to your headphones (instead of the other way around), any damage would be to the phones and not the computer. To prove it put the phones on your ears and do it again. The loud click you hear is the spark vibrating the headphone cones.

Because some ppl use any thread available to make stupid comments just to get their post counts up... like any1 gives a fuck how many post you have(except maybe the few that are involved). :stars:

I think its because some of us can relate , I have three kids constantly switching plugs with out turning the system off first . :( Just ask a mod to close this thread if it bothers you or better yet move to the lounge for some fun . :)
