I'm almos convinced about buying the iPod Video (30G),
but after some research (Im not gonna give up 300 just like that, right),
thereis something that worries me,
I read at Wiki, that the battery on this iPod is not replaceable,
is that entirelly true?, if it is, is there a work around?, damn, cus I mean,
I don't wanna trow all that money just for a few weeks of use.

AFAIK the only one that is replacable (unofficially i may add, i think it voids the warranty) is the iPod mini. Considering the Video is made of metal or whatever, i highly doubt you can replace the battery yourself.

That's my main gripe with the iPods. If they had a replacable battery, i might've considered getting one.

O_o u can just recharge it or r u saying it dies after a few hours? :S

btw wait till next month cos the 6g ipod should be out by then and it might be a bigger screen so watching videos will be nicer. :)

You can buy new batteries on some websites...it's hard to replace it though, especially if you want to without scratching it. :frusty:

you have to get the AppleCare Protection Plan (i think its about $60) for iPod and they'll change it for you. i think the protection plan runs for 2 years and they'll change when the battery for you within the 2 year period, as long as the battery's permanent life is at 50%.

imo, ipods = overrated

And as for monkeee's post, not 100% sure but average ipod usage usually puts it at more than 50% at the end of 2 years, or am I way off?

Ipods are gay.
Apple = cash mongering whores.
Both facts.

Why else would they sell an mp3 w/o a replacable battery?
Why does the Mac cost so damned much?

way off....

anyways, seroiusly, i really don't think iPods aren't that bad. I currently have one 3rd Generation iPod with the AppleCare Protection Plan i bought about 2 years ago and its been working great for me. I mean i payed $300 for it and i say it was worth it for thoes 2 years. Also i noticed my battery was dying out a lot faster, near end of 2005, so i just gave it to the apple store and they gave me a brand new iPod. so now I have another brand new iPod to last me maybe another 2 years. IMO, i really dont think iPods are as bad as people say. :no2:

I have an ipod video 30g and it was definely worth the money. But i would really suggest you get a protection plan/extended warranty on it. Its definelty worth another 50 bucks to protect your invest ment for the next 2 years. I had a nano and got protection on it. When it went out i simply called apple and i had a brand new one in less than 10 days no questions asked. And even better i transfered that protection plan over to my video and if anything goes wrong with this one its completly covered.

Yeah, but they say it only covers two years,
and Im very careful with my stuff, I've had my CD MP3PLayer for almost four years.
