Theres quite a few freeserve channels out there that you can download movies on.... just do a search on google.

no hes not.

IRC was pretty much the first source for file tradding, or leeching mainly. As it still gets movies before most p2p networks, and is up there with newsgroups as being "first" most of the time..

what? no, this is so wrong. As with any p2p, it depends on the upload speeds of others. In most cases, xdcc bots, are fed from t1/t3/university connections. I regularly get download speeds of 200k in some channels. Even the newsgroup can't feed me as fast as some IRC servers. :huh:
