Firefox opening the Browser failure

if i get a link via msn messenger and i DON'T have ff open atm ff will not open at all. if ff IS open atm and i get a link via msn messenger it will go to the link requested. is there a fix for this? i've had this problem since i went from 1.5 to 1.5.0.1. i did a clean install and had this problem. i also formatted my pc recently and the problem is still there. any help?

Is FF set as your default browser ?

i had a problem like that, i fixed it by setting IE as the default browser, then setting FF as the default browser again.
