Check stuff like...

Router
Firewall
Anti Virus
Connections (Most providers allow 4 or more)

I use Avast anti-virus but since it checks files as they come through I cant run it while downloading from Newsgroups.

That newsserver has bad retention at less than a day but completion is pretty good. Its was going slow the past couple of days even though the network status page at http://help.rr.com/HMSLogic/network_status.aspx says green. You can have up to three connections even though the help page says four

i have rr ..and yes rr new-server is total crap..retention is around 20 HOURS and completion is around 50 percent even with par files it will not repair it..so dont even bother with it..suggest u get a premium newsserver like newshosting or giganews instead

Newsbin caps the download speed after the trial period unless you register or crack it.
I bought it. :)

RR news servers are ass. Get a decent usenet provider.
