Could a mod ban me from all the forums except the Lounge, just for 12 hours.

I think that would be for the best.

Thanks for that

Willie Maley was his name
he brought some great names to the game
when he was the boss at Celtic Park
he taught them how to play football
he made the greatest of them all
Gallacher and Quinn have left their mark.

(chorus)
And they gave us James McGrory and Paul McStay
they gave us Johnstone, Tully, Murdoch, Auld and Hay
and most of the football greats
have past through Parkheads gates
for to play football the Glasgow Celtic way.

In 38 there was a show Glasgow was the place to go
a model of the tower was footballs prize
England sent 4 of the best
they didn't meet with much success
cause the trophy ended up in paradise.

chorus

Coronation time was here 53 that was the year
another 4 from England met there doom
they said we'll have to try again
but like before it was in vain
because the cup is in the Parkhead trophy room.

chorus

And then in 1957 we faced a guy called Gorgie Nevin
the game is etched on every Celtic fan
Wilson, Mochan and Mc Phail
and Willie Fernie scored as well
as Celtic beat the Rangers 7-1.

chorus

So 10 years they had gone and so
to Portugal we had to go, to play the team that Italy adore
Celtic went out to attack
they won the big cup and they brought it back
it's the first time it had been on British shores.

chorus

And now a new Millennium we have a brand new stadium
We're amongst the honours once again
The Celtic fans did proudly sing
Larsson is the King of Kings
and he joins the list of famous Celtic men!

I was reading on the BBC website this moring about the appalling fall from grace that Gregory Vignal has suffered.

Last season he was playing for Scotland's premier football team, winning the Scotch Premier League, the League Cup and he played in Europe.

Now he's languishing in a pish team's reserves :(

Jock Brown - ex Celtic (execy type thing) is a hun and a biased commentator who can't say a good word about us.

Mark Hately - Ex Rangers is straight down the middle and tells it like it is.

True Story.

By a lonely prison wall, I heard a young girl calling
"Michael, they have taken you away,
For you stole Trevelyan's corn,
So the young might see the morn.
Now a prison ship lies waiting in the bay."

Chorus:
Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.

By a lonely prison wall, I heard a young man calling
"Nothing matters, Mary, when you're free
Against the famine and the crown,
I rebelled, they cut me down.
Now you must raise our child with dignity."

Chorus:
Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.

By a lonely harbor wall, she watched the last star fall
As the prison ship sailed out against the sky
For she lived to hope and pray for her love in Botany Bay
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.

Chorus:
Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.

OOOOOH

Hearts get the ball in the net, but well off-side.

JPaul

Prick Brown says it's well off-side.

Then describes it as a controversial moment. Hearts are unlucky.

When you walk through a storm
hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.

Didn't start out the brightest but he has certainly dished the pwnage since.

Getting Keano there is surely worth a mention too. It was by no means certain he would what with other clubs offering him more.

That's another feather in his cap, that.

JPaul
04-05-2006, 08:58 PM
I agree, Keano has been fan tastic. He is World class, even now. Well not really but you can see how he was.

His influence on the younger players has been a big factor imo.

Roy Keane’s testimonial is likely to attract the biggest gathering of away fans ever seen at a British game.

Keane’s current club Celtic have requested 20,000 tickets for the May 9 game.

After consulting safety officers, United have decided the only way they can accommodate such a massive number of supporters is by allocating Celtic the entire North Stand, which holds approximately 25,500.

It is still anticipated Celtic will sell their entire allocation, helping to swell the attendance for the former United skipper to well over 70,000.

Keane has already pledged to give away 1,000 tickets to Manchester schoolchildren and local United supporters clubs and it is widely assumed the proceeds, which are likely to be in excess of €3.57m, will be donated to the Irishman’s favourite charities.

Meanwhile, United expect to smash the club record for a home game at Old Trafford when they entertain Arsenal on Sunday.

With more seats set to be made available in the new quadrants, club officials are confident of exceeding the 70,504 they attracted for a league game against Aston Villa in 1920.

However, even when the expansion is fully completed, Old Trafford’s capacity will still fall short of the 76,962 who saw the FA Cup semi-final between Wolves and Grimsby at the ground in 1946.
